The band was founded in 2016 in Ticino, with the aim of proposing songs from the Delta Blues tradition, but in a bass, drums, two guitars formation. An anthology of Roberto Johnson's compositions with a modern sound was immediately proposed.
With the contribution of the current members, the timbre of the band has further evolved. With the arrival of Oliver Frei, the focus of the Delta Groove Band shifted to the creation of original songs, trying to maintain a connection to the sound of Robert Johnson's Mississippi Delta. Delta Groove Band has participated in various Swiss Blues festivals and is among the four finalists of the Swiss Blues Challenge 2025.

"Natural Born Slider" establishes Joe as one of the best and most original slide blues guitarists thanks to his unique and personal style. In 2003 and 2004, he participated in the double Jimi Hendrix tribute release "Voodoo Crossing" and "Gypsy Blood", together with international artists such as Robben Ford, Steve Lukather, Larry Coryell and Hiram Bullock. Joe spent long periods between 2004 and 2013 in the US touring alongside American singer Terry Evans (Ry Cooder, Eric Clapton). In more than two decades of experience on national and international stages, he has played throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, including prestigious blues and jazz festivals. In spring 2022, he recorded and released his first solo album, 'New Horizons'. An extremely lively, authentic album, underpinned by a rich and powerful sound where blues roots and slide guitar once again dominate.

LeBron was initially inspired by Black music, from Soul to Funk with R&B influences, arranging famous songs to his liking, and then really began his own journey as a composer.
On 13 October 2023, the band released its first LP, entitled 'ANONYMOUS', under the artistic production of Riccardo Rinaldi aka Ohm Guru (Nea, Sud Sound System, Colle Der Fomento). From then on, the band began to play on the most prestigious Italian and European stages.
Their music is pure contamination between Funk/Soul and Blues, with a vein of 'independent music'. From the big band Rhumboogie Orchestra featuring Ted McKenna, to the harmonica driven Jensen Interceptors. His style is very polished with blues riffs bordering on swing with a unique delicacy. Al is also an excellent singer with the perfect voice for a pleasant sound that caresses the soul. His fellow travellers are Alan Thomson on bass, known in the music world for his collaborations with great international artists.
